we watched a video today in Tech... on OSHA safety regulations. HAHH. yeah, uh, let me tell you, theater tech people, at least at my school, tend to pretty much completely ignore OSHA, heh. every two seconds the guy on the video would mention some thing that you're not supposed to ever ever do and one of the Lakeshore techs would go, "Oops! Heh heh..." And I pretty much spent the whole time making snarky comments or laughing at things that were kind of unintentionally dirty.

The host guy in the video was very disturbing and overenthusiastic. He also had a fondness of "dancing" various things across the screen... like, when talking about the difference between safety glasses and safety goggles, the screen showed both, and he wiggled them back and forth until stating that safety goggles work better and using them to scoot the safety glasses out of the shot. I don't know, it was weird. He did the same thing with different types of dust mask, only, the preferred one of those, he put over the top of the other one... and started wiggling them back and forth, and it looked like the dust masks were mating or something, and so I had some rather extensive inappropriate laughter problems there.

At the end of it the host guy was for some reason wearing nothing but tiny swim trunks, which was creepy. And he was sitting on a washing machine. And then he turned it on and it was vibrating and he had this look on his face and... yeah. Creeeeeeepy. Mainly because, you know, it kind of had absolutely NOTHING to do with anything.

So anyway.

Edit:
Ignore my complete inability to draw hands, and just be glad I didn't draw the guy vibrating on the washing machine.

The one on top was apparently the dominant one because it had TWO straps. According to the video, at least. Whee.

...well, the art and skill is the greatness. The representation and everything about that video.... bad, bad bad!

And just so you know, I had never heard of OSHA until Friday -so I doubt we follow them also :)

I also like your tapeworm/pubic hair/bacteria culture/paintshop play background. its purrty.

Technical theater and OSHA tend not to mix well at all, owing to the fact that generally with theater you are on a completely inflexible schedule and therefore tend to be like "fuck it, we'll do it THIS completely-against-OSHA-regulations-way because it's faster!"

Every business has to follow OSHA. Even if you weren't properly informed. In fact, a business can get in trouble if the employees don't know about it.
