(no subject)

so, Friday around 12:30, I was sitting in art class polishing my ring on the dremel (drill thing), back turned to the window. and suddenly, the whole room gets REALLY REALLY dark. now, this confused me, because it seemed like a power outage, but my drill still was working. I turn around, and look out the window -- and the sky is BLACK. Within 15 seconds the wind kicks in and the trees in the courtyard are bent over sideways by it. And the power goes. For the next half-hour, it's lightning and pouring and insanely windy -- basically, really nasty thunderstorm. Power flickering on and off, etc.


It didn't seem THAT horrible, but it must have been because I was just watching what was happening in the courtyard... apparently my high school is in the small one area of the county that didn't completely lose power. There are huge trees down EVERYWHERE, there was even a tornado out towards Covert. Apparently the wind gusts in general were in excess of 100 mph.


Amazingly, my house didn't lose any trees. BUT... a house down the street did. So, like about 75% of Berrien County, WE HAVE NO FUCKING POWER. I'm writing this from Sara's house (she lives by the high school in the didn't-lose-power zone). My house has been without electricity for more than 30 hours. And it really, really sucks.


So yeah. I am incredibly fucking bored. Right now I'm at Sara's, but feeling vaguely guilty for just showing up and stealing her computer, heh, so I'll probably go back home to my dark boring house soon enough. Arrr. I hate this. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO. Last night I went over to Bree's and dyed her hair purple, her power was back on and stuff. She has a date tonight, though, so I can't hang out with her again. And I don't know when my power will be back, bleh... there's more major places where it's out, like Benton Harbor/St. Joseph, so the fact that my little chunk of Lincoln Township has no power probably doesn't matter so much to the repairmen. It's not a quick fix, either, the tree down the street took out a ton of wires...


Blar. So yeah. I am DYING OF BOREDOM.

Really, those are pretty damn good pictures considering that we had no power and it was 11 at night, so that's flashlight + flash on camera.... but yeah.


... It's thundering. If it storms and we lose power again I AM GOING TO FUCKING KILL SOMEONE.
