I start too many entries with "so"... I need to stop doing that.

Last night I worked at the Haunted House again... this time, I was the little old lady in the foyer that's the entrance of "Nightmare of Fear" (one of the tent things). I had old-age makeup on and my hair in a dishelved bun (getting my hair into such was an accomplishment in and of itself), and according to my job description I was supposed to be wandering about confusedly, looking for something I'd lost, and lure people towards the motion detector that triggered the scare. Only it didn't work. It was a big room, and people are fucking stupid, and no matter what they ALWAYS went the wrong way, away from the motion sensor and the door to the next room. So instead my line became "Hello my dears, come along this way, THIS way..." and even THEN some of them tried to go the wrong way. Argh.

The scare in my room was defective... first the hydraulic arm it came down on refused to go back up, so that had to be fixed. And then, about 45 minutes into the night, the trigger went haywire. I was nowhere near the motion detector and it kept going off, so the arm of course wasn't going back up since the trigger makes it go down. Finally it started to go back up, but it hit the top base really hard and for some reason set off the trigger, and went down AGAIN. And repeated. Up--*BAM!*--down--*SCREEEEECCHHH*flashflashflash up--*BAM!*--down--*SCREEEEECCCHHH*flashflashflash... over and over. It was 10 minutes before it went back to normal and I could let patrons in again. And then once it had normalized... THEN the maintenance guys showed up, and proceeded to break it again. Argh.

I got home at 12:30 AM and proceeded to spend 2 1/2 hours online despite being dead tired. Yeah, I'm stupid.

And today... today has been procrastination. And making cookie dough for cookies that I'm too lazy to bake -- I wrapped it up and stuck it in the fridge, I don't need to make them until Tuesday. Also I have been procrastinating. It's almost 5 and I haven't written that National Merit essay, taken off my pajamas, or showered.

Um, maybe I should do that.
