Jul. 5th, 2007 07:50 pmour cat is dying. my father has been poisoning moles and we think she got one when hunting -- the poison is so noxious that the poison control guy told the vet that a. the only solution was to cut her open and flush out her gastrointestinal tract, and b. this could only be done in a well-ventilated room by doctors in gas masks, because the gas generated by the poison could kill them. the only vet open out of the seven we called (everyone is out of town) does not have the facilities for this. we don't know what to do -- we don't want to leave her to die in a cage, but my father thinks putting her down is hasty because she "could pull through". i highly doubt it, and don't want to see her suffer through something meant to make things die slow, horrible deaths.
really she was my mother's cat -- she liked me, but she was never mine -- and the whole situation is ungodly painful.
some night.
